Your job is to lie down, relax, and allow yourself to be transported by the sound of the Tibetan singing bowls. We will start with a little refreshing yoga to awaken like stretching cats. Then I will play for you these ancient spiritual instruments from the Himalayas that are known for deep healing, chakra cleansing, and sending one straight into pure meditation. Sometimes the bowls take you places far far away from this earth, or tell you visual stories, about their history or your own past, reliving and relieving. People have also reported feeling relief from stress, anxiety, depression, insomnia, physical pain and emotional pain. Afterwards, we will be treated to some local organic yellow and Oolong tea, and we will meditate while sipping on it.
I quit the 9-5 work machine and now pursue my passions in travel blogging, spirituality, activism and art. I'm a certified sound healer, yoga & pranayama teacher, and meditation practitioner. I study ancient spiritual practices from cultures around the world - ranging from shamanic plant medicine in the Amazon and in Kenya, to sacred sound through the Tibetan singing bowls and Indian bamboo flute, to chakra activation through seed mantras, to channeling the goddess through various forms of nature. My roots are in Kenya and India.
Colourful local organic teas from Kenya's highlands
We will be tucked away in a quirky, cosy, artsy coffee shop that might just become your fave chill hangout in Nairobi. It was started by some feisty young Kenyan women, one of whom used to be my room-mate - oh the good old days!
