We will meet at my home art and yoga studio. After a brief introduction, guests will be led through a 45 minutes gentle yoga practice to soothe the body and prepare the mind for creativity. After that class we will sip on some tea and enjoy snacks while moving into the art studio for the visual journal part of our workshop. During this time, guests will receive guidance on creating their own unique visual art journal pages which combine words, collage, painting, and other techniques to record personal experiences. Art journaling is a powerful way to exercise creativity and can be very cathartic and relaxing. A large variety of materials will be provided and guests will bring home a small “visual journaling kit” to help jumpstart their journaling practice. To close the workshop, we will again move into the yoga studio for a short yoga practice and close out with a guided meditation.
I am a certified Art Educator currently working in the public school system. I am also a registered yoga teacher (RYT200) with additional certifications in Aerial Yoga, Children’s Yoga, and Trauma informed yoga. In addition to being a full time art educator, I teach yoga part time at a local studio (Hot Power Yoga, Gentle Yoga, and Yin Yoga) and volunteer as a yoga instructor at the Veteran Affairs hospital in Lake Nona. I have taught countless summer camp programs for children, Art and yoga workshops for adults, led yoga, art, and surf retreats along with my partner Ricky.
Light snacks (fruits, nuts, crackers, etc) will be provided
A variety of herbal and green teas will be provided.
I have a functional yoga studio and art studio in my home in South Orlando where we will be working on our workshops. Guest are welcome to visit and relax in our backyard garden.
Please plan to arrive promptly. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a sketchbook with you (heavy, water resistant pages are preferred). Alternatively, paper will be provided.
