We meet at the Maple Heart Ranch - Homestead. Depending on the riding experience of the guest, I pick the horse for them. The guests will get, to brush and saddle the horses and get them ready. I do help, where help is needed. This way the horse and the rider will get to know each other. We do go in very small groups from 1 to 4 guests on the trail rides. First we spend 15 to 20 Minutes in the riding arena, to build up the confidence between rider and horse. After that we will ride to the Trans Canada Trail. The trail leads into old grow forest and along the Shawnigan Creek. We will be back around 2pm. Where the guest unsaddle the horses and lead them back to the pasture.
I spend most of my live around horses. I train and work our horses to get them prepared to be great trail horses. My daughter Leslie is helping out, whenever she has time to get our horses well trained to get great and reliable companions when it comes to trail rides. I try to give our guest a great experience which includes more than just sitting on the back of horse and enjoy a great scenery. For me it is important, that people get close to those majestic animals and build a connection with them. And most important is, that guest have a great experience and feel save and comfortable.
On Trail rides, which are longer than two hours, we are planing a stop, where we can get off the horses and have some snacks
We ride along unique trails along the Trans Canada Trail, where we can enjoy the nature and the scenery on horse back.
