As the sun sets over Rome the city’s dark and eerie past comes to light – a past of ghosts, executions and mystery, where thousands of years have left a story behind every stone. Our small group (10 people maximum) will join the ghosts and ghouls traversing the Tiber river and haunting the city’s streets after dark. The deserted piazzas, so crowded during the day, will tell stories of their harrowing past as we explore them at night. We’ll visit the home of Rome’s most notorious, though surprisingly empathetic, murderer – we’ll share the facts but it’s up to you to decide who the real victims were in this chilling tale. Together, we’ll relive the bloodcurdling history of the city’s most haunted bridge and the specters who possess it. Who knows, if we’re very (un)lucky we might even encounter the ghost of the Female Pope, who has occupied this bridge since her untimely death. Delve into Rome’s forgotten past on this hour and a half walking tour. Explore the Eternal City by night, avoiding the usual crowds, and experience a different side to Rome – a side you won’t find in the city’s museums or galleries.
We are infatuated with the city’s dark side, and the tales they don’t want you to hear! On my tour, I invite you into Rome’s underworld where the stories of the city’s sordid past contrast the beauty of the streets and buildings that bore its witness. My fascination with ‘dark’ Rome has connected me with other, fanatic guides. Me, Mikaela, Cristiano or Sabrina are ready and waiting to take you to the secret past of a forgotten Rome. JOIN US!
We will visit: • Corso Vittorio Emanuele II • Campo de’ Fiori • Piazza Farnese • Via Giulia • Via del Governo Vecchio • Castel Sant’Angelo (from outside)
