This is the evening edition of the top-rated "Everyday Street Art + Street Food" experience. In this adventure, we explore the Malay quarters - Kampong (Village) Glam, which has evolved from the area where royalty (yes, there were kings in Singapore once upon a time) lived to a hip, super trendy and culturally vibrant district today. The experience includes three parts : Eat: Learn the story of the enclave through its food where we will taste & drink some hidden and authentic gems of Malay street food. We will visit local family-run establishments, one of which have been in business for more than 100 years (and the insider scoop to some food fights). See: The murals in this area defined and set the scene for street art in Singapore. Together, we explore the side streets and back alleys to understand the history and traditions of one of the indigenous culture of the island. Drink (optional activity) : We end off at the city's hippest street where you could shop at some indie shops, visit a local craft beer house or a cocktail bar to have some bespoke cocktails. I'll share insights into the local brewing scene and walk you through the ingredients, process and styles of the region. - Vegetarian-friendly, just let me know in advance!
I'm a chef by training (At-Sunrice Culinary Academy, Le Cordon Bleu) + foodie and licensed local guide. I'm also WSET (Wine & Spirits Education Trust) Level 2 certified. I lived in 6 cities (2 of them in the great beer countries of Germany and Belgium), had good beers around the globe and want to share with the best food & drink of the island!
5+ types of street food & traditional hot drink (equivalent to light meal) , expert guide, lots of stories and laughter
