Our meeting point is General Osorio Square, in front of Entrance A of the subway station. We'll then walk the small streets of Ipanema before taking the lake, understanding the geography and history of this part of town and enjoying the outstanding panorama. We'll cross through the gorgeous hipodrome, pass by the botanical garden, visit the old portuguese neighborhood, the hidden artits' villa and the camblestone residential streets of Horto. We'll head to Parque Lage to breath some fresh air, see the monkeys, visit the school of visual arts for the famous photo at the pool, go inside the caves then we'll go back to the lake towards Catacumba park. A 3 hour guided walking tour, full of history, curious information, nature and the company of people from over the world.
I'm a journalist, documentary film maker and published author of three books, 2/3 Brazilian, 1/3 french, but mostly a citizen of the world. I spent my life travelling and studying abroad before I got married in Paris and had my daughter in Rio, who is now 24 and repeating my story, studying and working abroad. Since she left to college in the US in 2014, I have been hosting Airbnb guests and am a Super Host ever since. Everytime I took my guests to this tour, they told me I should turn it into an experience. Here I am! Socializing with people from all over the world opens the mind. Showing tourists the hidden corners of that part of Rio that I know and love so much is a great pleasure. Seeing how much they appreciate the walk and talk makes my day. I can't wait to show more and more people why Rio is such a nice city. See you soon!

Although Rio is quite flat, we'll walk up the streets of Botanical Garden area, but nothing really hard. We can stop for fruit juices or coconut water anytime. I speak fluently French and Spanish too and I understand Italian. So, if you need me to translate anything, don't hesitate to ask!
