Hear about the history and culture that makes Berkeley one of the most famous cities in the world. We'll meet at the Paris Baguette Cafe at 2150 Shattuck Avenue just next to the downtown Berkeley BART station. We'll take a stroll through Berkeley's downtown area and then through UC Berkeley's campus alongside tree-lined Strawberry Creek to the Free Speech Cafe. Enjoy the amazing views of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge from the Campanile Bell Tower. See the Greek Theater and Memorial Football Stadium, and shop for one-of-a-kind jewelry and t-shirts on Telegraph avenue. The tour ends with a variety of afternoon options: lunch at one of Berkeley's best restaurants, shopping at the Ashby Flea Market, a visit to the Berkeley Art Museum, a 3D movie at the California Theater, or a waterfront walk along the scenic Berkeley Marina.
Hi! I'm Pam and I've lived in Berkeley for 34 years. My guidebook to Berkeley will be in bookstores next spring. I have a Bachelor's in Political Economy from UC Berkeley, and next spring I'll receive my Master's in History from CSUEB. I've worked on the UC Berkeley campus for 20 years. Currently I'm career counselor, and my past jobs were in admissions, student life, and international advising. I love discussions about politics, culture, economics, alternative lifestyles, and international issues. I'm excited to meet you and introduce you to one of the most exciting cities in the world!

Please wear comfortable walking shoes and I also recommend sunscreen, a camera, and cash for refreshments and street artists. There are lots of great options for lunch and activities after the tour.
