At the start, I pick you up with my van at the meeting point of your choice in Guadix with drinks and some snacks. From there, we drive to the natural hot spring water. It is a ride which last 25 minutes. Along the way, we visit the dolmens and after the bath, take a tapa in a traditional cave house bar 3 minutes from Guadix. We stop for photos with optimal angles, the skyline, and scenic panoramas of Sierra Nevada (the highest mountains of Spain) by the canyon of Gor River and on the way back by the plateau. The river Gor has opened a deep and narrow canyon for thousands of years that cuts with a knife the meadows on its margins. The slopes of this spectacular valley have been home to different cultures throughout the centuries, remains of which can be found in various archaeological settlements and, above all, in the many dolmens that can now be visited in the Gorafe Megalithic Park. The largest concentration of prehistoric tombs in Spain, with 240 Neolithic dolmens scattered in 10 necropolis.
In 2019 I came back where I was born in Granada and I am looking forward to rediscover this region with its visitors. I lived in places such as South America, the Balkans, Turkey, Morocco, France, Belgium, Ireland and UK where I had the opportunity to explore and join many unique activities with other travelers since 2010. Currently, I work online as independent consultant on EU projects, so it is just something that I love to do in my free time. My educational background, degrees and diplomas include Law, IT and International Cooperation. Spanish is my mother tongue and I speak fluently English and French which I love to practice with the people traveling.
Always with cold drinks and snacks. A tapa and drink included in a bar is included in the price.
In the fridge of the vehicle drinks are included.
The Megalithic Park of Gorafe: Here you'll find one of greatest concentrations of dolmens of Europe, 240 in all.
We go in a Mercedes Vito van of 8 seats, although I always ensure that not all seats are occupied for our comfort. Sometimes…
I can bring towels and you only will need to take your swimming clothes.
La Raja de Alicún is close to the village of Villanueva de las Torres. This series of thermal baths in the nature, of easy access and free, are in small pools in descending order. The first pool coinciding with the birth of water is around 28ºC and the last one can easily be around 22ºC. In addition, it has the charm of being in a small canyon surrounded by rivera vegetation, a small oasis in a semi-desert environment of spectacular beauty.
We only need swimming clothes, towels and appropriate footwear for going down and up a path for about 3 minutes.
