Let me pick you up and transport you to this tranquil and iconic valley. This new route for 2020 is a relatively easy and flat 3.5 mile walk which demonstrates the beauty of the river Wye Valley and includes entry into the majestic Tintern Abbey. There are undoubtedly few rivers in the UK that come anywhere near to the beauty of the River Wye. The fifth longest river in the UK rises in the remote uplands of Mid Wales and flows through often mind-blowing scenery to the Severn Estuary. You will walk through ancient woodland and along the banks of the picturesque river to the almost 900 year old Tintern Abbey, one of the most impressive ancient monuments in Wales. The walk passes through historic villages where you will stop to take pictures and visit tea rooms.
Hi everybody and welcome to South Wales! I run a small walking tour business in the area and would love to show you around. I have been exploring this beautiful region, with its rivers, mountains, castles and stunning coast for over 20 years. I am passionate about its history, wildlife and people and about sharing my knowledge with visitors to this diverse and beautiful part of Wales.
