Let's make gorgeous and pretty handmade temari-zushi—small, ball-like sushi that's great to serve at parties. I will show you how to make this traditional Japanese dish that is also colorful and enjoyable to look at. I will teach you how easy it is to decorate this handmade sushi using sashimi, eggs, vegetables, and so on. We'll also make flower-shaped sushi toppings out of vegetables, basic miso soup stock, a dish from seasonal green vegetables, and a pudding from matcha—green tea powder—made in Kyoto. Then we'll artfully arrange these five colorful dishes on the table and taste them. You can definitely make these dishes when you return home.
I grew up in a family where my mother often cooked for visitors. I have much experience hosting international students and teaching Japanese food culture. Because of that, I have met people from all over the world. I studied home economics at university. I am certified by the Japan Association for Cooking for Foreigners, and by the Home Party Association.
