We emerge ourselves into 1639 describing Newport's beginning. We follow along to one of Newport's beautiful harbors; from here we will then stop at our first restaurant which includes a slider with fries, the burger is made from 100% Hereford beef and quite delicious. We continue on talking about Fort Adams which we can see in the distance, then into the Fifth Ward which represents Newport's Irish Heritage. Our next stop is Winner Winner where a chicken dinner is served, always a big hit with our groups. We then stroll into the gilded age, talking about life at the mansions and the lives of the servants. We continue our stroll to the IYRS, the International Yacht Restoration School, a hidden gem. Our next stop is a slice of pizza which is the best of Newport. We then stop at the Samuel Whitehorn house, followed by a dessert. Our last stop is O'Brien's Pub where we raise a glass to our beautiful City by the Sea, this stop includes a choice of a beer, wine or summer drink, non-alcoholic beverages are also available. Please advise us of any food allergies or gluten sensitivity.
After having experienced various food tours we concluded that this would be a fantastic experience in Newport. We attended FOOD TOUR PROS in Chicago which was a comprehensive education in creating a successful Food Tour. Tom, was Director of Environmental Services at a large hospital in Massachusetts; Susan, was a Paralegal, Office Manager and Bookkeeper for a law firm in Massachusetts; Paige is a chef. We have achieved great success. A testament to this has been the amazing reviews we have received from our guests.
We provide water, sun screen, rain ponchos and take out containers for any leftovers guests would like to take.
Guests will enjoy restaurants that would most likely be overlooked. They will see unique shops along the way as well as hidden historical spots.
This tour is available Tuesdays only, from May, 2019 through November, 2019
