We either run an itinerary custom for you (at same price) or we follow the itinerary below: We’ll start the day at a time that suits you and make our first stop at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, looking for Sunbirds, Canaries, Owls and enjoying its natural beauty. After Kirstenbosch we head to the birding local hotspot known as False Bay Coastal Park, which is a great water birding area. Here we’ll find Shovelers, Flamingos, Pelicans, Teals, Terns and more. The photography opportunities here are great! Once we’re done at False Bay Coastal Park, we’ll make our way to Boulders Beach Penguin Colony where we’ll see Africa’s only Penguin species, the aptly named, African Penguin. Here we can also expect to see various Terns, Cormorants, Oystercatchers and more!
Meet the birds
Owls, flamingos, and penguins are just a few of the nearly 70 birds you’ll visit. Despite their vibrantly varied colors and diverse songs, you’re likely to spot them feeding, building nests, and even showing off to attract mates.
I keep a cooler bag with ice cold water in the car, so just make sure you bring your own snacks.
All entrance fees to mentioned Birding sites are included.
The whole day’s transport is included.
Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens is a birders paradise, with beautiful scenery and natural habitat. False Bay Coastal Park is a network of fresh water ponds, hosting some of the best and most well known birding in all of South Africa. Boulders Beach Penguin Colony is a great spot to view Africa's only penguin species and also hosts the likes of Crowned, Cape & White-breasted Cormorants as well as various Terns, Gulls and Martins.
We should be out for 4 hours, but we'll go at your pace, so make sure you pack some snacks and don't forget a jacket, as the weather in Cape Town can be unpredictable.
