This is a fun, interactive sourdough pizza making workshop where you will learn how to make your own delicious sourdough pizzas to try out at home. After a quick introduction and top tips for sourdough pizza making we will start our practical baking session with: - Weighing out the ingredients and working out the ratio of quantities of flour and water to use with our sourdough starter cultures - Learning how to make and maintain a sourdough "mother" culture at home - Typical kneading and shaping styles used for sourdough pizza making - Baking your own sourdough pizza for the perfect shape and consistency We use several different kinds of sourdough starters ranging from San Francisco sourdough, Alaskan sourdough, Rye sourdough and Colorado Rocky Mountain Brown sourdough. All make great pizza bases After making your own sourdough starter culture to take home with you and baking your own pizza, we will have a tasting session with: - A selection of homemade sourdough pizzas with different toppings You will take home: - Sourdough handbook with full instructions for making the starter cultures as well as sourdough pizza recipes for you to try at home & your starter culture
I'm a qualified holistic nutritionist with an MSc in nutrition and I'm also a trained nutritional chef. I'm really passionate about making and eating really tasty and nutritious food for all my family and friends to try. I've been teaching people how to cook and eat healthily for over 30 years and love to make delicious dishes and experiment with flavours and textures. I run a whole range of workshops from cheese making, fermented foods and drinks, sourdough bread making, making protein bliss balls, making Christmas treats and learning to cook healthy vegetarian and plant based recipes.

We run all our workshops in our fully equipped kitchen and dining area where we have a large dining table for you to work at and plenty of worktop space to store your sourdough starter culture and your pizzas till we cook them. The chairs are nice and comfy and you will get a good view of the screen where we will show instructions for you to follow as we cook. Once our pizzas are baked we will sit down to eat them altogether at our dining table.
