We will start by providing you with electric bikes so that you can get over the hills and through the route in no trouble, available in kids sizes as well. As for the tour itself, its mostly all through the countryside away from traffic and the crowds of Rome. First we cycle along an ancient roman called called the Appian Way out of the roman walls and into the country. Arriving at the Park of the Aqueducts, we have our first real stop to explore the aqueducts, put our feet in the cool waters and take pictures overlooking the scenic landscape and these massive overhead structures (the aqueduct Claudius). Then we continue to the Mercato Rionale Quadraro. A local farmers market which is an wash of colors and has an abundance of italian food to buy for your picnic. Here you can spend some time sourcing whatever you want to eat for lunch at our picnic stop about 25 minutes away. Our next stop is at a mineral spring where we sit down alongside a little brook to eat together. As well as the picnic there is also the spring itself to enjoy as this is part of a old story about how water comes up from the ground since ancient roman times. Finally on our way back to the Colosseum and starting point, we pass through the Cafarella Valley.

I have been living in Italy since 2007 and leading bike tours since 2012. Having started my own bike tour agency and built an online presence on sites like Tripadvisor and Google, I have been working hard to build an even better reputation on Airbnb. Thanks to the fact that Airbnb aim to offer more personal experiences where you can actually meet the person behind the scenes, means that I am finally able to offer my authentic blend of outsider opinion with local knowledge. Something that gets overlooked by many tourists and yet when you get to experience it for yourself, you too will realize what difference it makes having the "expert" by your side. From including little known facts or just taking the road less travelled, these are some of the reasons I hope you choose to see what I have planned for you!
