Steady steps, still air, and peace. Feel the timelessness of Japan by experiencing an ancient tradition. Located in the middle of the Seto Inland Sea lies Shikoku, famous for its thick noodles called udon, oranges, art, and a special circuit of 88 temples waiting to be discovered. Why not start uncovering authentic Japan by experiencing a part of this great trek? - Visit two temples, each with their own unique history and scenery - Enjoy hiking along the peaceful and beautiful Goshikidai Mountain range - If desired, experience the hike wearing traditional pilgrim attire
I have been living and working in Takamatsu since 2015. I used to work as an English teacher helping locals improve their English, but now I help people with tours. I really enjoy hiking to different temples and have visited many of them several times--each time is a new experience and there is always something new to learn from it! Also, in university I studied Japanese religion and can answer any question you might have about temples or their history. I can't wait to share my experiences with you too so why don't we keep exploring Shikoku together?

A few minutes after the start of the hike, you will enter a forest of cedars leading up to Negoro Temple. Please keep in mind, once we enter the forest you will not have access to any highway or road for around 1.5 hours. With this in mind, please prepare for the hike accordingly so that you can enjoy the trial without any problems. A part of the hike contains hilly terrain, so take your time and make sure to enjoy the scenery.
