Each experience lasts 2 hours and David ( sometimes known as the Grumpy Glassblower,) a glassblower with over 38 years experience, will welcome you and give you a safety talk. He will explain all of the equipment and tools that you'll be using and also talk you through techniques and methods of handling and manipulating the glass. David will then show you how to make glass drinking straws, drinks stirrers, a pendant and the grand finale, blowing glass baubles . All of the pieces that you create during your experience will be ready for you to take home at the end.
I'm a full time glassblower with 38 years experience which I now want to share with you. I moved to Tenby from Australia over 20 years ago when I met my wife, a Pembrokeshire girl, who was backpacking around Australia and to tight to buy a didgeridoo as a souvenir so she brought me back instead !! We opened our studio shop, Gift of Glass in 1999.
Basically we will supply everything you need on the day.
Your experience will take place at our studio in the beautiful cobbled Brychan Yard, off Frog Street, Tenby.
