Eastern Market Walking Brewery History Tour
You will go on a walk around the Eastern Market area of Detroit to visit 6 old brewery sites. You learn about the pre & post-prohibition breweries that once thrived in Eastern Market. I will share historic pictures of what the area breweries looked like during their peak. All tour guests enjoy an included pint of beer at Eastern Market Brewing at the end of the tour. This walking tour is based on the book "Detroit Beer - A History of Brewing in the Motor City." Written by Stephen Johnson, the owner of Motor City Brew Tours and your tour guide for the walking tour.

I'm the owner and operator of Motor City Brew Tours. I provide bus, walk, boat and bicycle tours in downtown and metro Detroit. I take you to places that make beer, hard cider and mead. I share the history of the city and the craft beverage industry along the way. We are Detroit's original beer tour company. Since 2009, I have taken 25,000 people on tours. I am the author of the book Detroit Beer - A History of Brewing in the Motor City. I produce a monthly podcast called Beer Tour Guy that interviews folks in the alcohol industry. I love to share stories and entertain folks over a couple of beers!
