I will take the process of making gourmet coffees from the beginning to the end. I will start with the beans. Guests will select and experiment with several bean types from our traditional dark roast blend of espresso beans to our lighter roasts like the Farm Girl Blend. All can make a great cup of coffee or latte but you need to know the differences and the origins of the beans to understand the flavoring. Tips and tricks to using the machine for safety will be shared as well as adjusting the settings to make half-caf or stronger ristretto. Milk and its use is important. I will talk and experience ways to make milk be more frothy for a cappuccino vs a latte with less froth. Position and technique are important here. The espresso machine may look intimidating but don't let that scare you. This is where the water, grinds and pressure come together for the perfect shot. Guests will use the machine to froth the milk as well. Lastly I will finish the coffee with a cocktail of flavor shots like Creme Brulee or Dark mocha latte. When finished you will be a pro barista and will appreciate much more your friends behind the counter & your latte!
I am Shawn Wilmoth an avid European traveler and lover of coffee. I have traveled to over 27 countries in the world and have spent many months abroad. In this travel I have become passionate about Italian desserts and coffees. Specifically my travel to Italy has turned that passion coffee passion into a new brand called Gelato Brothers - Brew Bros Coffee shop. I have 3 shops and a dessert trailer. I have ran these shops and the dessert and coffee trailer for more than two years. I have created a line of Coffees called Brew Bros Coffee in both whole bean and cold brews. The line of coffees is a special blend of beans providing light roast, medium dark roast and dark roasts. Training will be using these custom line of beans.
I will take you behind the counter of our little coffee shop and train you to be a real barista. This will be at the trendy new location in the urban area called South Knoxville on Sevier Avenue. There are plenty of parking spaces beside the building.
No experience needed and all drinks can be made in half-caf or decaf so not to worry about the jitters.
