We'll head to the Samba Stadium, also known as the Sambadrome, to enjoy the biggest and most exciting party in the world: The Carnival Parade in Rio de Janeiro Sambadrome. We'll be on Grandstand Sector 2, 3, 4 or 5. I will give you all the insights and important facts about the traditions and also the current Carnival themes and Samba Schools. The party starts at 9 pm and goes on all the way until the sun rises. But don't worry! It's possible to go back home after each Samba School Parade if you run out of stamina.
Carnival is the moment I am always waiting for every year. Since my childhood, my parents used to take me to many Samba rehearsals and street band parties. One of my dreams was to play percussion for one of the Samba Schools of Rio, which I have done repeatedly every carnival season since 2009. Although they are known as "Schools", nothing is actually taught there. You must go, learn by yourself and constantly attend the rehearsals in order to join the percussionists. The beats and energy arising from the drums are the fuel for me to always keep it going.
