Are you curious to visit a place full of history still belonging to the most ancient Florentine family? Under the Tuscan sun at the shade of the Villa you will enjoy a magnificent view over vineyards and olive groves. I will tell you the fascinating history of my family, deeply connected with the local territory producing wine here since 1500s. We will visit the ancient cellar under the Villa, treasuring wine in old wooden barrels and learn about the different grapes we produce with the greatest care. You will have the possibility to learn about the process of traditional wine-making and touch history with your hand: the traditional ‘orcio’ tins for oil, ‘carattelli’ for Vinsanto. Finally, in a relaxing atmosphere we will enjoy our wines and guide you to discover your Tuscan soul-wine.
Ciao! I am Gerardo, entrepreneur, sommelier, romantic vigneron. Wine lover!. I was born and raised among the beauties of Florence but also in the nearby Tuscan countryside surrounded by my family’s olive groves and vineyards. My love for wine has refined in time just like our wine refines in the wooden barrels in the ancient cellar. I grew up learning from my father and grandfather the secrets behind wine of excellence. The passion for wine pushed me to explore the world at the discovery of wines and now it brought me back to my origins in the family winery that for 25 generations has been producing wine in the green heart of Chianti Rufina. I will talk to you about Chianti Rufina, the smallest of the Chianti with its strict rules and together we will let enchanted by the genuine taste of tradition.
