We will ride horseback through the tiny community of Mismaloya. As we pass the houses and farms you'll be surprised at what you will observe about the people and culture of life in this 300 year old village. We travel silently through the jungle on a horse trail. This area is far from the road used by ATV's and motor vehicles and is only used by the locals. We will cross the river and climb up into the Sierra Madre Occidental mountains. I've come upon clouds of butterflies, exotic and rare birds. Most of the houseplants we buy on the other side of the wall grow wild here. The jungle is beautiful, cool and serene. The list of plants and animals that call this sub-tropical deciduous forest home is very, very long. This extraordinary environment provides shelter for not only mammals, reptiles, insects and lesser-known species, but also four hundred bird species of many different sizes and colors and three hundred orchid species. Puerto Vallarta's tropical weather is vital in sustaining the biodiversity, abundant rain and sun sustain a beautiful tropical canopy that covers mountains and feed the different inhabitants of the jungle. After about an hour in the jungle we will arrive at "The Predator" movie set and a chance to swim in a pool with a rock water slide. Now it's a restaurant and we'll stop so you can get lunch. After and hour or so we'll head back to the beach
I grew up in LA and am a Vietnam vet. I served in the Air Force. My wife Empress Al-Yasha is an amazing jazz singer who tours Germany every spring. We live in a little house next to a river. The beach is at the end of the block. We own a Swinford Bandog the neighborhood kids named "Bruno. We are happy to share the experience of living in paradise at a sustainable pace in a village that is over 350 years old. Some families have been here for more than 10 generations. I've known some of my neighbors long enough to watch their kids have kids. I have been living in Mismaloya since the 90's. I was an independent tour operator and now I have partnered with the local providers. So I know the business and who will give us the best tour at a fair price. We speak English, German, French and Spanish... kinda.
If you want to paddle board, kayak, or snorkel I will set everything up and negotiate the best service and price. I know…
