We will be walking and tasting our way through the Delmar Loop - a hip, hopping and culture-rich scene with some of the best snacking in the city. Originally named after the “loop” that the streetcars took to bring people to the area, was named one of the 10 Great Streets in America. The neighborhood offers some of the city’s most popular culinary hot-spots and we will stop at five carefully curated, internationally inspired stops during our tour. And we will share the insider scoop on the food scene, history and culture of the area while we stroll the street.
Hi, my name is Jennifer and I am an avid lover of food, family and Saint Louis. That is why I have chosen to offer walking food tours of our eclectic and culturally diverse Delmar Loop neighborhood. Your may have one of three guides on the Delmar Loop tour. One is Shawna, she knows all of the local lore of this unique neighborhood. She is a geographer by training and a traveler at heart. Anther is Tracey. She is from St. Louis but never tires of playing "hometown tourist." The city offers so much culture (and such great eats!) and she loves to share that with people. And there is Beverly, a native St. Louisan who never misses a chance to show off the city. Her background is in accounting and public media. Now she leads architectural tours our food tours which let her brag about St. Louis.
Our stops: Funky, Fresh and Fun. Tastings range from one of the hippest taco joints in the city to a craft churned ice-cream and cookie parlor. We highlight a newer neighborhood staple that serves Texas style BBQ straight from the smoker; a Middle Eastern gem that specializes in family recipes made with the freshest ingredients; and an original location of a most-acclaimed pizza joint to call Saint Louis home in years.
> If you think your guide did a good job, gratuities at the end of the tour are greatly appreciated! > If you have any questions please feel free to call Jennifer at 314-374-5673.
