While sipping on refreshments and enjoying some light snacks, I will show you the entire process of creating resin jewelry from start to finish. By the end of our class, you will know how to: - find and forage your own objects for resin casting - work with preserved botanicals - mix, pour, and work with resin - cure your resin pendants - and of course, attach pendants to a chain or pair of earring hooks I have a growing collection of botanicals that I've collected, from various hikes, walks, and trips to the market, for us to work with. You will get to select from hundreds of unique botanicals for your pieces. After the class, you will take home either a pair of earrings or a necklace right away. This will be created from pre-casted pieces. All pieces come with complimentary stainless steel hardware. Upgrades to brass, 14K gold plated, rose gold, and sterling silver are available upon request for an additional charge. Keep in mind that all customized pendants that you cast in class will need 4-7 days to cure and process. I will either arrange a time for you to pick up your items or ship them to you for free via first-class mail (please allow an additional 3-5 days for delivery).
My name is Sam and I'm a collage artist who has been experimenting with found objects for 10 years. I run Oddflower Studio, a small resin casting studio in West Oakland. IG: @oddflowerstudio I teach my guests how to create beautiful, functional art from seemingly ordinary objects. Most of the flowers and plants in my studio have been locally sourced and hand-pressed or dried in-house. My practice is all-encompassing from hand-selecting all of the botanicals to be preserved and casted into one-of-a-kind resin pendants to assembling the hardware for your earrings, necklaces and bracelets.
During our class, we will be working in my private, plant-filled, sun-drenched studio in West Oakland. The space includes ample seating and space to learn, chat, and enjoy our refreshments in.
