IL PAGLIAIO away from it all and just for two

Live an authentic experience in an unspoiled rural place! Il Pagliaio is an old barn hidden in a peaceful secular olive grove overlooking Mount Maiella. Set high on a hill it is away from it all but it is only 3km from Tocco da Casauria village, 5km from the highway, 45km from the main local town Pescara. Relax under the shade of a hundred olive trees or head off to discover the surroundings. The inside is an open space in a simple and basic style, reflecting the rural spirit of the place.

The house among olive trees

A cottage made up of stone and timber built on two storeys, with a large living room, glass window, a couch for two people and a bathroom with sauna; on the second storey there is a double bedroom. Outdoors, there is a large garden with a porch equipped with BBQ and a wooden table. The site is located on the pleasant hills between Bellegra and Olevano Romano. We have currently added two beds, set up in a wonderful Indian teepe available for two extra guests in addition to the four ones.

The apartment is one of three apartments at the recently restored Palazzo Galli, first built in the 1700s and later expanded. The apartments are part of a cultural arts initiative known as The Fontecchio International Airport. Founded by American artist Todd Thomas Brown, it represents a hybrid; half Airbnb, half artist residency center. The rooms have vaulted ceilings and walls adorned with original works of art.
