Shared shower and 6' claw foot bathtub on main floor, complete kitchen use . Self check-in. Start hiking from house. As a Host I really appreciate it if you would mention the names of all Guests in your party.

The Blue Sky Room is painted with colors of the Colorado sky and earth using natural pigment plasters.
The window blinds are of high quality and effective. As rule in Passive Solar home: Blinds up during the day, blinds down during night.
Hot water kettle, small frig. ,tea, and hot chocolate are complimentary in the room. French Press, coffee in freezer of main kitchen. One shelf space is available in the big frig. A movable oil-fin heater provided.
Since this is a "shoes off home" in high altitude Colorado you will be more comfortable if you have some house socks or slippers to wear indoors. Fresh sun dried all natural fibre towels provided. [[ sorry no more Pets]].

Guest are welcome to enjoy the home's kitchen, bathroom and extensive outdoor spaces. Please respect the parking signage, stop at the chain. You will need to carry your belongings to the house, about 200 feet, so please pack accordingly.

The weather in Colorado is unpredictable. Plan for cold temperatures year round and snow, November to April. Count on some sun most days of the year. The sun is intense at this altitude, a wide rimmed hat and sunscreen are a highly recommended. The water in Crestone is of the highest quality, straight from the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. It taste delicious and is cool right out of the fountain-tap, in main kitchen. Bring a re-usable water bottle for excursions and you will not be disappointed. There are 3 beautiful Hot Springs in the area so bring your bathing suit!

There is plenty of space and privacy here. Friendly wild life are our closest neighbors and they visit often. There are 3 beautiful Hot Springs in the area ( 1/2hr. +) so bring your bathing suite!

I am a designer, builder, artist and community activist. This house was built mostly by hand by me. As I am originally from the Netherlands, born in the province of Brabant, I decided to call my home Brabant House. I have had a long design/build career in many types of building technologies. My focus has been in the application of “Direct Passive Solar Heating” in as many building situations as possible. There are still some finishing touches needed on this house. In 1973 I started a family and left India to live in the USA. I have 3 grown up children, and 3 grandchildren, now everyone calls me Opa (Dutch for grandfather). I have lived in Crestone for more than 24 years and know the community well. I am involved with some key aspects of our community, and see the tremendous advantages of working collaboratively. In the past I have done a lot of travel, mainly in central Asia. Now I am enjoying being settled, which includes daily attunement to the seasons and to the Elements while developing the following guideline: Out of Your Head, Into the Elements. Brabant House abuts the Baca Greenbelt, it is easy for guests to tune into and access this natural asset. For those willing, you can experience a touch of wildness by exploring the local foothill and taking in the scenery. Welcome to an abundance of quiet /wild life and memorable vistas. Your privacy and contemplative times will be respected. If you want to experience Masala Chai made with a recipe I learn while living in India I am always happy to share my passion for chai first thing in the morning.
