Carlton Beach is a beautiful family friendly white sandy beach located only 35 minutes from Hobart. This area is also central to many tourist destinations - Richmond 25 minutes, Eagle Hawk Neck 40 minutes, Port Arthur 60 minutes.
Dodges Ferry is a 3 minute drive from the house where you will find all the local convenience shops you will need - IGA supermarket, butcher, chemist, bakery, take away shop, newsagents, hairdresser. There is also a boat ramp and jetty for those with a boat.
Other beaches in the local area - Red Ochre Beach and Blue Lagoon are perfect for kayaking or if you prefer the calmer bay waters.
