The Casita is a bright, sunny apartment tucked away on a quiet 1-acre property, 5 minutes drive (3kms) from the centre of Port Fairy town.
Across the yard from our main house, the apartment is restful, private and sheltered. There is ample parking space providing easy access.
The apartment is fully-self contained, with a full kitchen. A selection of teas, coffee, milk etc are provided.
Small extra touches ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay.

The apartment consists of three separate rooms: living/kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. There is a full kitchen with stove, oven, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, and all utensils, etc to match. A light continental breakfast is provided along with tea and coffee.
It is easy to curl up on the leather lounge in the living area to read some of the books and magazines supplied, or watch TV. Wifi is unreliable, although hotspotting can work with a major provider, and connections are good in town. An air-con helps to maintain a comfortable temperature inside no matter what is happening outside.
The bedroom has a Queen bed, electric blankets in winter, drawers, hanging space and luggage racks. The bathroom is modern and the shower spacious.
This one-bedroom apartment is tucked away inside a shed! Once inside, you will never know. Your car can pull right up to the front door inside the shelter of the large cypress plantation and native tree plantings. A quiet rural location and good insulation will ensure a relaxing and restful stay.

Model Lane is a quiet country lane on the edge of Port Fairy town. It is 3kms from town via the sealed bike rail trail, an easy walk or bike ride. Driving time is approximately 5 minutes.
And the town is a gem: great walking, beaches, history, coffee shops, cafes, fine dining, pubs, music, festivals, shopping, a lighthouse, surfing, bike trail... We love where we live and are only too happy to share a slice of it with our visitors.

We live in the lovely coastal town of Port Fairy on the south coast of Vic, largely due to the fact that everyone else in my family (except me!) is a surfer. I have mostly worked in the community health sector during my working life. We have had mobile coffee van businesses for the past 25 years, as well as a local coffee shop and roasting business. We have recently retired, and really enjoy this new lifestyle, although much time is taken up trying to turn a paddock into a garden! We love being at home but also being on the road and travelling. I love to read; Tim loves watching movies. We both ride bicycles and walk. We really enjoy travelling, locally and internationally, and recently completed a magnificent trip on the Trans Mongolian Railway, before heading to the US and driving right across the country. Best of all is coming home to Port Fairy where we lead a very low-key simple life.
