It is a nice safe relatively quiet suburb. Obviously as far as activities go the city of Chicago is about a 30 min drive and 30 min train ride away. There are some fun things to do and a handful of good restaurants I can recommend. If you're here for vacation and tourist attractions however I'd recommend you go into the city.
