My husband and I have lived in Barboursville for 27 years. We own and operate EPH, an equine facility. We have trained, shown, and bred horses through GP . Gerd still actively competes in Dressage and travels throughout the US giving clinics in all disciplines. I grew up in Monte-Carlo and Gerd is German. We have 3 children. We speak fluent English, French, and German. We have 1 horse, 9 mini donkeys, 6 dogs, & a bird. I am very involved in taking care of the animals and the children after school activities. We have a beautiful, peaceful farm and hope you will enjoy your stay. We live on the property on the top of the hill, so we are always available to you. You can stroll around the property and enjoy the scenery. Our mini donkeys love to be fed apples and love cuddle so please feel free to visit them. Our cottage is child & infant friendly. We are close to many superb vineyards, Montpelier, and Grelen market. We are only 20 min. to Charlottesville airport, UVA, and Monticello. We are also close to many sought after hiking trails, such as Old Rag, White Oak Canyon, Sugar Hollow, and Shenandoah National Park. You can enjoy many music events, apple picking, and wine tasting events. You can also enjoy bringing your horses to our farm. EPH boasts a 26 stall barn, an international indoor and outdoor arena. You can use the farm's facilities, lessons, or enjoy the hunt country that surrounds us. We do allow dogs but they would have to stay in the barn. The cottage is attached to the barn so it is not far. They would have a lovely 11x11 stable to stay in. Can run around our large indoor and walk all over the property on a leash. I just cannot allow pets into the cottage as many people have allergies and I need to respect that. I hope you bring your pets.
