Church of St Roko is one of several Roman Catholic churches which rings the bays of Tivat and Kotor. Montenegro has a Catholic population of about 36,000 people, mostly located in the coastal area. The church doors are open every day and the inside of the church is beautifully appointed. It is a cool and tranquil spot for anyone looking to take time and get some peace and tranquillity. August 16th is the anniversary of the death of St Roko. There is a big evening celebration at the church and all the local community gathers outside for a fete. The Cafe Giardino is next door if you want to have a drink or a meal. There is also a brand new renovation of a traditional stone house which looks amazing right next door.
