Incredible entry level/ground floor apartment of a beautiful registered 108 year old historic brownstone home in the heart of Capitol Hill in Washington DC. Kitchenette, gorgeous bathroom, huge outdoor patio, amazing bedroom with smart tv equipped with cable tv and full size washer/dryer. Beautiful living room with sofa bed and fireplace. Two blocks from the famous Eastern Market and metro station, half a block from Lincoln Park!

Welcome to the most iconic neighborhood in DC. Built in 1908, this registered historic home was just recently renovated. This is the safest neighborhood around, it's like living in Pleasantville with the friendliest neighbors pushing strollers, exercising, walking dogs, or talking leisurely strolls. You can walk anywhere to the surrounding markets, restaurants, and attractions with peace of mind! Trader Joes just opened up 2 blocks from the house! You won't want to leave this home!
Inside you’ll find a mixture of old and new with antiquity of 1908 seamlessly complimented by the modern updates in the recent renovation.

LOCATION: Historic attractions, Michelin star restaurants, the Smithsonian Museums, the Capitol building, Eastern Market, the Folger Shakespeare Library, theaters, the national memorials, all within walking distance or a short car/metro ride. The home is located just a block and a half from the famous Eastern Market where local produce, goods, art, and crafts are sold. Lincoln Park is only half a block away. The Capitol Building is less than a mile away. Folger Shakespeare Library is a ten minute walk from the home. The up and coming 8th street corridor is known for it’s restaurants, two of which have recently been awarded the prestigious Michelin star. A five minute walk away you’ll find everything from comfort food to international cuisine to fine dining. The Nationals stadium is a mere 15 minute walk if you care to catch a baseball game and cheer for the team. There’s even a new Trader Joe’s grocery store slated to open the summer of 2017 two blocks away. Washington DC also has hourly bike rental stations which are super convenient especially in the warmer months.

METRO: Washington DC has one of the cleanest and most convenient subway systems in the world. Eastern Market metro station is only a five minute walk away and one metro stop from the Smithsonian Museums and National Memorials. A few stops further down the line and you can be in Georgetown, Adams Morgan, Arlington, or even Old Towne Alexandria. There isn’t a more convenient place to be or to see it all.

CONVENIENCE: The location is not the only benefit of this rental. The apartment has been professionally designed to be cozy, comfortable, and user friendly, but additional amenities have been provided to make your stay absolutely seamless. In the unit you’ll find wifi, a queen size bed and additional queen size sofa bed, a large living room with a functioning wood burning fireplace, a large television with cable tv, a full size washer/dryer, a newly renovated bathroom and shower, luxury bathroom linens, soaps, shampoo and conditioner, a hair dryer, a Kitchenette equipped with cooking supplies, a coffeemaker, toaster, and smoothie blender, double burner hotplate, refrigerator and microwave, and access to the large front patio area as described above.

YOUR HOST: With years of experience with vacation rentals and a genuine concern for the comfort of our guests, we have been classified as SUPERHOSTS for the length of our hosting career on AirBNB. We take great pride in the experience we offer and make a concerted effort to communicate as promptly and thoroughly as possible. We will do our best to make your stay absolutely fantastic.

HOUSE RULES: We ask our guests use the spaces respectfully. If damage is caused to the unit, furniture, or items in the unit please let us know so we can address it with you as soon as possible. Smoking is not permitted in doors or outside on the patio. All smoking must be done on the sidewalk outside of the front gate. Parties are not allowed. You may sit in the patio area out front of the home and visit and enjoy some wine or eat a meal. The patio space primarily belongs to the tenants of the top two floors of the home. Please observe quiet hours on the patio after 9 pm with no loud talking or playing of music. If you want to have a fire in the fire place please let us know so we can demonstrate how to open the flue and start the fire safely. Firewood can be provided for a fee. It goes without saying, but please drink responsibly, and be considerate with the amount of noise you create.

PETS: Pets are welcome, we do however charge $50 pet fee that is paid in cash at check in for the deep cleaning required after a pet has stayed in the unit. Please notify us in advance if you're going to bring a pet and provide details of the pet!

PARKING: Most row homes on Capitol Hill have no private parking. The majority of residents park on the street. There is ample on street parking for you. We always get a spot either immediately in front of the house or on an immediate adjacent side street. Cars can be parked for up to two hours without receiving a citation. However, if you plan to have a car during your stay and plan to park it overnight you’ll need a temporary zone permit which we can provide that is good for your entire stay. To obtain the temporary permit the city requires the license plate number as well as the state the car is registered in. This temporary permit is good for two weeks. If you will require parking, please send us this information as soon as possible and we will secure the pass for you. You place the pass on your dashboard of your car when you check in and then place the pass back in the location you found it inside the apartment at check out! Thank you.

Check in is 2 pm and check out is 11 am. This 3 hour window allows time for cleaning between guests. We will try to accommodate exceptions but no promises since some guests will be checking in the day you check out and vice versa!

My name is Nick and I'm a Dentist in the Air Force. I grew up in a small town outside of Seattle called Enumclaw. I went to college at BYU and subsequently dental school in Louisville Kentucky. Since working for the military I've lived in Las Vegas Nevada, South Korea, Germany, Hawaii and now DC. Of all these diverse places Hawaii is hands down my favorite. There is just something magical about Hawaii that will have my heart. Aside from dentistry I love photography and being outside enjoying nature. You can most often find me on some outdoor adventure, taking pictures (whether it's a gorgeous sunset or some ridiculous dessert), working out to maintain my fitness, or spending time with friends and family. And speaking of dessert I have quite an intense sweet tooth. I know, a dentist with a sweet tooth, I've heard all the jokes you can imagine in this scenario but it's true! My husband Spencer is originally from Iowa but most recently lived in Los Angeles before moving to Hawaii so we could get married and start our life together. He works in the fitness industry as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. In addition to fitness he's worked in interior design and visual merchandising, entertainment, music, and jewelry design. He's usually looking for some creative endeavor to get involved in. While we spend a lot of time obligated to work, we try to take time to get out and explore. We have found great places to eat and fun things to do and are happy to share our knowledge!
