The atmosphere of the city center is unique, you are a stone’s throw from the fruit and vegetable market and the marked fish. The old town is partly pedestrian and is full of shops and local. You can explore the area on foot without using the car or other means to get around. The train station to reach the Cinque Terre is 100 meters and Riomaggiore (the first village) is only 10 minutes by train. The other pearls of the gulf of poets (Portovenere, Lerici, Le Grazie.) are easily reached by bus with the lines P and L.
