Upstairs bedroom features a king sized bed. One single daybed located in the hallway outside of the bedroom. Queen size pull out couch in the living room. Central heat and air, plus a wood burning stove for heat if you desire**
1/2 bath downstairs, full bath with a washer/dryer upstairs.

Some guests have experienced internet service too slow to stream movies which may be dependent on day and time. Our internet speed is 1.5 mbps. Enough for surfing and streaming for one device.
** wood burning stove may not be used if guests are sleeping in the pull out couch in the living room.

Please remove your shoes inside the cabin. We have red clay here that is very difficult to remove from fabric. Remember to pack some slippers or cozy socks for inside wear.
Please let me know if you will need the single bed and/or the pull out couch made up.
Cell phone service is spotty here, but we do have internet and a land line if you must make a phone call.
Two Yeti tumblers are supplied for your use while visiting. They have been sent through the sanitize cycle of the dishwasher before your arrival and they are good for hot or cold drinks. Please feel free to take them anywhere you like (hiking, driving, picnicking) but remember to return them to me before you drive away. If you’d like to take one with you (or you forget and leave with one) there is a $45 restocking fee for these if you take one home.
Two way radios are located on the kitchen counter. Please use these if you go for a walk in the woods. We are isolated and if you need assistance it is important that you are able to contact us for help. You can talk to each other on these radios, but please note that we are able to hear you.
We do have two trail cams located along two trails. These are set up to capture wildlife and you can see footage on our social media pages.

Absolutely no smoking of any kind on the property. No incense.
No cooking using curry or other very strongly odored spices, please. The smells may cling to the wood and can be extremely difficult to remove.
We are an approved short term rental property and have been inspected by Albemarle County.
Before guests arrive we will conduct a thorough cleaning, including an open window airing out, disinfectants and the use of steam to sanitize surfaces. There will be a minimum of 40 hours between guests.
No parties or any unregistered guests without prior approval from me.
Any violation of any rules can be grounds to have your reservation revoked and your payment will not be refunded.

Married mother to 4 grown children. I spent most of my life in New York and moved to Virginia in 2010. My husband and I love Virginia and we enjoy traveling when we can.

We are located on the property, but not visible so you will have privacy. We will be happy to assist you with suggestions and links to winery tours or help with restaurant selections or anything else that strikes your fancy. We are easily accessible for anything you need or we can leave you in complete privacy.
