Captain Charles Pearson of the Confederate Army owned the original track and founded Pearson's Falls about a one mile walk from the guesthouse. The area is known for it's hidden waterfalls and wildflowers. Avid bike riders enjoy the gentle slopes down HWY 176 from historic Saluda to Pearson Falls Road in Melrose valley.
