The neighbourhood is fantastic. My metro stop is called Horta because of the house of the famous architect just 10 mins away that is now turned into a museum.
On Monday nights, there is a big fresh food market, with lots of influences of the traditional migrants in this part of Brussels: the Portuguese, the Italians and the Spanish. You can have cava, Italian cheese or tapas there.
The best beer bar in town is also just 5 minutes away, as is one of the two (it is a disputed title) best 'fritures' in Brussels.
Ixelles and Forest are just 2 minutes on foot, the huge Brussels-Midi market (on Sundays) and the Parvis de Saint Gilles bar area are about 10 minutes walking.
