Renovated former industrial space. 700 square foot studio with ceiling height soaring to 20 ft. Radiant heated polished concrete floor. Central a/c. An incredible original skylight bathes the apartment in light. Open plan Studio. Stylistically simple and minimal, but with a lovely eye for detail. There is simply no other place like it in Hudson .

Please note: If you will have more than 3 people, We can accommodate up to 2 additional people in this unit on an air mattress. But we must know in advance and you must pay the additional charge per person, otherwise the the unit will not be properly ready for you.

The City of Hudson charges a 4% Lodging Tax on all rentals in the city, less than 28 days. This tax is included in the fees we charge here.

You will have the entire 700 sq ft studio with separate entrance to yourself. It is a single open space with kitchen, sleeping and living areas. There is a private bathroom.

The outdoor courtyard is shared with the adjacent unit.

This is a very special place to stay in Hudson. We are tucked away down a small alley right behind a commercial area but it’s totally peaceful and quiet back here. These units are behind commercial buildings in a mixed use district. The alleyway leading to the entrance of the units is not quite where we’d like it to be yet. But we expect to be making big improvements to the outdoor common areas this Spring and Summer.

ON ACCESSIBILITY:
This unit is mostly on one level on the ground floor and it is relatively accessible to those with mobility issues. However, there is a gravel surface leading up to the units and there is one small step up to get into the space.

ON PARKING
There is no off-Street parking available on the premises. However, there is a fair amount of free on-street parking available very nearby. If you plan on parking your vehicle and mostly walking (Hudson is just 2 square miles), we can usually find you a safe place to park off-site. There are also a number of metered municipal lots (in effect 9am to 5pm Monday - Saturday, no charge on Sundays and there is free on-street parking in front of the bank/office building just across the street from the unit which is well lit and visible from outside the unit. There is also usually easy parking on Eighth Street just to the East of the units.

Be mindful that Hudson has alternate side parking rules in effect every day on most streets, most times of the year. The city only allows parking on one side of the street from 12:01 am until 8 am. When the following date is an odd number (January 3 for instance), parking is allowed on the side of the street where the houses are odd numbers (like 747Columbia St). On even dates park on the even side of the street.

If you can’t remember the rules it becomes pretty apparent by the side of the street that everyone is parking on by 8 or 9 pm. That’s the good side after midnight.

The good news is that even if you get a ticket, the fine for expired meter is currently $8 and for parking on the wrong side of the street overnight $15. But be sure to pay any tickets quickly. After 30 days, the fines escalate dramatically.

ABOUT TV & VIDEO STREAMING:
This apartment is equipped with a television with an Apple TV streaming device There are apps installed for Sling Video, Netflix, YouTubeTV, Prime Video etc.We have a basic Sling Video account. If you want to watch any of the other services, you are welcome to log-in with your own credentials.

ON HEAT & AIR CONDITIONING
In cool months there are radiant heated floors that keep the units wonderfully cozy. Please don’t adjust the thermostat much. The concrete floors can take up to 24 to fully warm up from a cold start. Conversely if you turn the thermostat up higher than 72 or so, it will turn the place into a sauna that won’t cool down for hours. A setting of 70 degrees, should keep you nice and warm without hot or cold spikes.

The Mitsubishi split unit in the kitchen area only provides air conditioning when it is hot outside. It will do nothing when it’s cold out to heat the unit.

But the unit, which is a fully renovated former industrial garage, is hidden away down a little alley just beyond the hustle and bustle, and is right behind the hottest, most fun restaurant in Hudson, Li'l Deb's Oasis. Our co-host Victor, lives very close by. He can sometimes pick you up at the station if you are arriving in Hudson by train or meet you at the unit upon your arrival. But there is always a lockbox so you can access the unit at any time.
