Buck Creek Lodge is cleaned by a professional cleaner, with everything wiped and disinfected before each new guest. You are welcome to book longer rentals, which would include discounts. Please note that to encourage 3 and 4 night stays, Thursdays and Sundays are already shown discounted on the calendar. Thank you
Buck Creek Lodge has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with twin beds. Between the bedrooms is a bathroom with large tub and shower. The living area is a large open-plan space consisting of two comfortable sitting areas, a dining table and a fully stocked kitchen. This kitchen offers a coffee maker with filters, and a coffee grinder. Regular and de-caf coffee beans, sugar, powdered creamer, black tea, herb tea and honey are also offered. In the cooking area one finds salt, pepper, spices, oil and vinegar. You will have all the pots, pans, glasses and dishes needed. The kitchen and dining area open onto an ample porch with a couch, and chairs for relaxing. Near the sliding glass door off the kitchen area is a table and four chairs for meals. From the porch one has views of the gardens, cove meadow, and Diggs Mountain.
WiFi Internet is available for phone and laptops. A large flat-screen TV, with Blue Ray, is available if you have a provider. We do have a great collection of DVD movies. Bring yours too!
Dogs: With advance notice, small to medium dogs may be acceptable after a pet fee charge of $35 for one dog and $50 for two dogs. Two dogs max. Owners are responsible for their care, behavior, clean-up and excessive pet hair on floors and furniture. Dog/s may not be left unattended in the unit.

This is a rural farming area. It is considered a courtesy not to walk or trespass on neighboring property.
Guests are invited to walk on the Buck Creek property, follow nature paths, and view the gardens.. A detailed Walking Map of Buck Creek’s 33 acres is included in the Handbook. For your safety use of the farm pond and dock are not permitted. Two large snapping turtles reside there.

We are located at the end of a gravel road, two miles off the highway. Because traffic is so sparse, we often walk this gravel road. One can walk, run or bike the entire two miles along Buck Creek, sometimes in sun, sometimes in shade. There are about ten friendly homeowners along this road.

We both are recently retired. Earlier Anthony was an English teacher, and later, a landscape designer who owned a nursery for 25 years. He has gardened all his life. Trew maintained a production pottery studio, with apprentices, for over 45 years. You may find pottery scattered about the home and grounds. Please enjoy the results of our over forty years of effort and interest, both in the garden and in the home. Our place will provide you a quiet, private and beautiful sanctuary. As travelers ourselves, we appreciate how the Airbnb process for seeking and purchasing travel accommodations can offer you a unique and genuine travel experience. Although we now rent a small home in Charlottesville, we sometimes stay in the Pottery, which is below the Lodge, and adjacent to the wood-fired kiln. We are happy to answer questions about the home, the garden, the pottery or your travel plans. Otherwise we respect your privacy. We look forward to hosting you!
