Built in the early 1900’s from Sandstone as stables, this is one of the oldest cottages in Clarens and farmers would travel here by ox-wagon for Nagmaal (Holy Communion). The cottage is private and cosy, being fully equipped for 4 persons. It has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The balcony and patio offer exceptional mountain views and there is a firepit for those chilly nights.
The busy Town Square with it's many galleries, coffee shops, restaurants, brewery, and eateries is an easy walk away.

The patio is a place to gather outdoors to braai, enjoy meals and relax while enjoying the mountain views and the large garden where children are welcome to play.
The cottage consists of an open plan living area where you can relax and watch TV. It has a large table and chairs for meals or playing games and opens directly onto the patio. The kitchen is equipped with cutlery, crockery, toaster, microwave, four plate gas stove with gas oven, pots and pans, fridge etc and is stocked with limited basics on arrival. There is a separate toilet with a basin on this level.
Wooden stairs lead upstairs to the 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Both bedrooms open onto the shared balcony with great views of the garden and the mountains.
Beds are equipped with quality linen, electric blankets and extra throws. Each bedroom has a private bathroom adjacent to it. Please take note stairs are not toddler friendly or suitable for those who struggle with climbing stairs. Heaters are provided as well as a hairdryer.
Due to the exceptional views of the Rooiberge including Mt Horeb and the Malutis, the home was originally given the name Kyk Die Berge in the 1960’s. At the time it was the only multi-story structure in Clarens and the locals affectionately called it “Die Flets”.
Gentle Presence is thought to have been the stables of a larger farm where farmers gathered for Nagmaal (Holy Communion) before being sub-divided and sold off to the previous owners. It has only had 3 owners including the current owners and has been declared a heritage site and has a charming history which we would love to share with you.

My hubby and I have always loved travelling and meeting new people. We ran our own IT and Courier business before deciding to settle down in the little village of Clarens.
