Montesquieu is a village of Lauragais, with its 900 habitants. Its richness was possible thanks to the culture of the famous PASTEL!

The castle of the seventeenth century in which is installed the town hall, with a limestone staircase of a rather rare form in the Lauragais; the Saint-Jacques church rebuilt from 1600 according to a southern Gothic style; the culvert that spans the former walkway and replaces that of the castral village; the site of En Negra with its lock, its chapel and the aqueduct of the Thesauque (classified MH in 1998); the bridge of En Serny (classified MH in 1998); Bois Barrat, 66 ha of communal forest and several fountains and crosses scattered along the paths.
