We are tucked away in the woods but only 5 minutes from Staunton, voted 4th Best Small Town in USA by USA TODAY in 2016 and 10th Best SmallTown by the Smithsonian in 2012.
Your rooms offer a private space with ensuite bathroom, furnished with an eclectic collection of pieces that feel comfortable and welcoming.
You will have sole access to your private spaces as well as front and back decks, garden patio and flower beds, all offering seating and shade where we can provide glasses and bottle opener for wine and beer that you might choose to purchase from the large variety of wineries and brewery in the region. Free parking right at the house. Janly is British and will happily serve an authentic, freshly prepared Cream Tea if you order in advance. $20.00 for two persons.
Beth and Janly are always on hand to welcome you and show you around the house and garden. We can advise on the best places to eat and things to do, both locally and regionally.
Our neighborhood is very small and secluded, with virtually no overview from others. We love the seclusion that provides us with a hide away but also allows us to be in our thriving downtown or on the interstate in minutes.
As a practising artist, Several art works by Janly are on display and for sale. Beth, a professional photographer also has work for sale .

Guests have access to most of the reception areas of the house including a library sitting room, living room, dining room, front and back deck, all areas of the garden including patio and fire pit. We can find space in our fridge for small items as needed.

Its best to allow at least 2 days to more fully enjoy Staunton and all it has to offer, especially if you are on a road trip and enjoying the journey as much as the intended destination. Kick back and stay a while. !!!

Within 3 minutes you can be in downtown Staunton where there are lots of coffee shops, restaurants of several different persuasions, art galleries, small locally owned shops with tons of variety. The American Shakespeare Center is a MUST DO even for the sceptic non theatre lover. Its the best!!!! This professional theatre co. performs around 3 plays a week, as well as theatre tours and workshops. go to (website hidden) for more information on this venue. The city has great restaurants, art galleries, a movie theatre . During the summer months that are free music events in Gyspy Hill Park several evening of the week.
The Frontier Culture Museum offers an excellent insight into the history and culture of early settlers and the influences they brought to this first frontier.
The Shenandoah valley offers some sßff dads carter draw wew excellent opportunities to visit excellent vineyards and local breweries. There's a self guided as well as guided tours of the historic district with many historic buildings of note. There is also a ghost tour occasionally. There are places to taste and buy wine and beer and a glass blowing workshop.
There are some good hiking trails not too far away from the easy stroll to the demanding climbs to reach waterfalls. AND THE LIST GOES ON!!!!!

Either Beth or Janly are available most the time during your stay but you are entirely free to come and go as you please. We leave the lights on!!!!!! and if you are attending an event where you wish to relax and drink, we will gladly drop you off and collect you for a minimal fee.
We love to chat and get to know you a little if that suits but we can almost disappear if you need your own space. You call the shots .
