Cabo San Lucas Marina

The Marina area is one of the premier centers of activity in Cabo San Lucas, and this charming waterfront neighborhood offers a rich collection of hotels, restaurants, and shops from which to enjoy all the scenic seaside views. Investigate the latest luxury yacht arrivals, observe one of the local fishing boats as the crew weighs out the day's biggest catch, or simply relax with a cocktail and watch the world go by on the Malecon.

See & Do

Forty years ago the Cabo San Lucas Marina and environs were home to an old cannery and a few charter fishing boats. These days the area hosts a wide variety of boats and water-based activities companies. Cabo Dolphins is one of the most visited destinations, with their menu of dolphin swims and encounters proving popular with guests of all ages. Cabo Expeditions is another adventure company with offices on the Marina, and they offer an array of tours than include helmet diving, parasailing, and snuba (a hybrid of snorkeling and scuba).

The Sea of Cortez is famed for its abundant marine life, a fact not lost on area fishermen. Most restaurants along the Marina have menus featuring the delicious local seafood, as well as "you hook it, we'll cook it" policies, meaning they'll be glad to cook up your catch any way you like it. Lorenzillo's is the premier local lobster house, although recent arrival Baja Lobster Company is giving them a run for their money. Solomon's Landing is another popular seafood stop, as is Malecon neighbor Captain Tony's.

What better way to enjoy a refreshing cocktail than with a cool sea breeze ruffling your hair, and an up-close-and-personal view of all the private yachts dockside? There are several popular bars and lounges situated along the Marina boardwalk. Nowhere Bar is famous for their Ladies' Night promotion and late-night DJs, while The Rooftop at The Cape offers one of the hipper lounge atmospheres in town less than 15 minutes away. One of my favorites is the Outpost owned by Flora Farms. Their insane grilled cheese sandwich is incredible and you must try their famous Carajillo Del Patrón. Omega on Medano beach has the best coconut shrimp tacos and they are 1/2 the price as the resorts. Las Guacamayas & Tacos Gus are my favorites for tacos in town. Salvatore G's Italian Restaurant has the best lasagna, huge portions. One of the city's top fine dining restaurants that is reasonable is Ediths, excellent food, can be a little loud but fun!

The Marina neighborhood boasts several of Cabo San Lucas' better hotels, two of which -Breathless Resort and Marina Fiesta - distinguish themselves with their elegant accommodations and amenities. In addition to hotels, the area also has many find condominium complexes that provide seasonal visitors with a central location and stunning sea and city views.

When visiting Cabo San Lucas, you will hear a certain stretch of the Malecon referred to as the Marina Golden Zone. This is a high-end stretch of the boardwalk that encompasses many of the best shops and restaurants in town, and includes Puerto Paraiso Mall and the adjoining Luxury Avenue boutique complex. Puerto Paraiso is in many ways the center of the Marina area, with its distinctive tower serving as an orientational landmark for pedestrians. Luxury Avenue houses Cartier, Fendi, and other international boutiques.

The wide, pedestrian-friendly marina boardwalk in Cabo San Lucas skirts a basin full of fishing boats and million dollar yachts, winding its way from the naval base around to the foot of Médano Beach. To walk from one end to the other takes the better part of 30 minutes, but offers easy access en route to many of the city’s finest shopping malls and plazas.

Puerto Paraíso is the signature shopping center on the boardwalk, with a wide variety of shops, galleries and boutiques. Visitors can work on their tropical wardrobe at Cabo Style, browse the latest ladies’ beach and swimwear fashions at Zingara and Tropica Calipso, search for new shoes at Baja Star, and find chic, sun-shading headwear at Cabo Hats. International chains are also represented – notably Kenneth Cole and Lacoste – and those seeking the toniest of brand names can continue their perambulations next door at Luxury Avenue, home to upscale standard bearers like Cartier, Fendi and Ultrajewels.

Plaza Gali is another popular marina-based shopping option. Located directly across from the cruise ship terminal, it serves as a sort of one-stop shopping destination for passengers on the way in or out of Cabo San Lucas. Fiesta Mexicana offers traditional arts and crafts, jewelry stores showcase Mexican silver and fire opals, and a duty free shop, pharmacy, and convenience store provide just about everything else. Plus, there is a Starbuck’s kiosk for morning caffeine fixes, and a Señor Frog’s handy for afternoon and evening pleasures like margaritas and fish tacos.

I love Mexico!!! I have been traveling to Mexico since I was very young. I have been a part-time Travel Agent specializing in Mexico for more than 20 years. My husband and I were married in Puerto Vallarta and renewed our 20 year vows in Playa Del Carmen. We have owned Casa Vanness for 10 years and just recently remodeled the entire condo. Our condo is perfect because of the location and I'm thankful for the amazing views! We also are involved with several animal rescuers and animal shelters throughout Mexico. I just recently became involved with the Los Cabos Humane Society. We first came to Cabo 10 years ago and fell in love with it! We bought our condo on our first trip there! Now, I am excited to share with you my luxurious, newly renovated hotel condo suite in the absolute BEST location that you could ask for at an affordable price with absolutely NO hidden costs! We remodeled it using only the best materials available from the mattress, to the linens, to the decor, to the high-end touches throughout including installing a high speed wifi router directly in the room.
