Beautifully located in hills overlooking the Atlantic Ocean sits the Marinhas windmill. The windmill dates from the year 1758 and was built in the traditional northern Portuguese style with circular walls, two floors, an entrance on the grown floor and two windows on the upper floor. It is classified as a municipal heritage building. The mill is 130 meters above sea level thus providing a breathtaking view over the towns and ocean and a unique retreat for the more adventurous guest.

There are several prehistoric monuments in the area including dolmans nearby and access to several spots for water sports around Esposende.
The mill has 18 m2, divided by 9 m2 on the ground-floor (kitchen, dinning area and bathroom) and 9m2 on the first floor (sofa bed 120x180 cm).

The access is not easy, as you have to climb up a steep hill over rough terrain, so make sure to have that in mind if you plan on bringing a lot of luggage as the wheels on your suitcase will not be helpful here. Once you have managed the 5 minutes hike up the hill you will find yourself sitting in the best spot in northern Portugal overlooking the ocean.
