Sunhouse is an unexpected gem on the Tasman Peninsula, located just 15 minutes from Port Arthur. Nestled between the trees and the ocean but near town, a place to enjoy the simple pleasures of life and nature. Meandering days can be spent wandering the coves and beaches, playing cards, drinking cups of tea or simply soaking up the sun with a good book. Come evening, pick produce from the garden and sip a wine in front of the fire.

Restored with love and creativity, filled with vintage finds and surrounded by a rambling cottage garden, the space is one that has had many hours of care put into it. Please note that this is a small cottage and not a luxury hotel! We use this space to get back to nature (although there is a very small TV available if desired). A 70’s cottage that has been furnished with the collected and considered, from the handcrafted timber kitchen to the tiniest curated details. Enjoy a soak in the bath or sleep in and appreciate the linen bedding. Although equipped with modern comforts, it is rustic, raw and authentic. The way Tasmania was meant to be enjoyed.
Sunhouse has a wood fire, a full kitchen and on site parking. Equally designed for enjoying in solitude or to be shared with love, we have two queen beds and a set of bunks so can accommodate six. Coffee, tea and basic provisions are provided however there are two IGA grocers nearby and one of the most amazing coffee spots a short drive away.

You will have Sunhouse all to yourself. The gardens are open for exploration, feel free to pick some of whatever is in season (an ever-changing array, including berries in Summer, and greens in Winter). Located on the road into town, there is ample parking if required but you will be able to walk in if that is what you prefer!

Please note that the shower is over-bath, so may impact guests with accessible shower requirements. Whilst not specifically pet-friendly, please message us if you are travelling with a well behaved furry friend.
Please note that the property has a fireplace (if you have little ones).

Sunhouse is located on the edge of the small fishing town, Nubeena, nestled in the coves of the Tasman Peninsula. While supplies are available in town, it is also a beautiful drive around the Peninsula to Port Arthur (15 minutes) and Eaglehawk Neck (20 minutes).
