Located between State College and Boalsburg in a quiet secluded setting, this home is the perfect place to relax, yet is only minutes from everything the area has to offer. The cottage has a new kitchen, multiple decks, a master bedroom with attached sun room, and large windows looking onto mature landscaping. Perfect for small families or couples, this cottage is warm and welcoming. For work travelers, we have gig speed internet. This is a strict NO SMOKING and NO PARTYING home.

***All of the Rest Easy Happy Valley homes, including The Quiet Family Cottage, are being cleaned with a strict protocol to ensure that we are providing the safest environment possible for guests. Commonly touched surfaces are being wiped down with disinfectants, including doorknobs, light switchs, counters, cabinet knobs, faucets, etc. All bedding is washed after each stay and we are keeping the home empty for one day between reservations. The Quiet Family Cottage is located within delivery service of restaurants and grocery stores.***
Located between State College and Boalsburg, our cottage is nestled in a wooded setting in a small neighborhood. You can go "downtown" for all of the cultural and sporting events or spend a quieter morning in Boalsburg, walking along the stream at the nearby PA Military Museum and grabbing a breakfast and coffee at the the Pump Station Cafe. The cottage is family friendly with an open kitchen and dining area, a deck for relaxing, and plenty of space for outdoor play. Numerous windows and sliding glass doors throughout the cottage let in natural light and allow guests to enjoy the view. The cottage has beautiful hardwood flooring throughout the home. The kitchen is newly remodeled with a full size refrigerator, Bosch stove and dishwasher, microwave, and plenty of counter space for cooking. The living room is the perfect place to relax in peace and quiet, with comfortable seating and a view of the woodland setting.
There is also a separate television room with large sectional sofa. The main deck is accessed directly via the television room or through a side gate near the kitchen. Enjoy dining under the trees in peace and quiet.

Once inside the house, the living areas are all on one level (washer and dryer are located in the basement). Please note that there are two steps outside the front door into the entry way and then one step from the mudroom into the house. There is also a step between the master bedroom and sun room (see photos for details).
The home sleeps six, with two queen size beds and a queen size pull-out sofa. Linens are provided; you are responsible for pulling out and making the sleeper sofa if required. There is a portable crib in the cottage, but guests should bring their own crib bedding. There is also a booster seat.
This is a strict NO PARTYING home and both the grounds and property are NO SMOKING.
Guest pets are NOT permitted, however, the owners do have a dog which stays in the cottage occasionally.
***PLEASE NOTE: We must be informed if the person listed on the Airbnb account will not be staying in the home and will be placing the reservation for a third party. The person who places the reservation with the Airbnb account is responsible for actions of all guests and for making sure that guests are aware of all rules BEFORE staying at the cottage.

We live in an old farmhouse in the suburbs and enjoy the outdoors, farmer's markets, and local coffee. Liam works as a carpenter, revitalizing old homes by upcycling found materials while adding modern touches. By State College standards, we are locals (been here over 15 years) and love the accessibility for outdoor adventures coupled with the amenities that a university town offers. We are proud to provide homes for travelers that we ourselves would enjoy staying in.
