You will immediately feel at ease once you pull into 'Jul's Place' - a quaint off-the-grid tiny home located on Balmoral Brook in Nova Scotia's beautiful Tatamagouche region.
This is a unique and tranquil one-room cabin with floor to ceiling windows that overlook the rippling brook surrounded by forests and wildlife. Get back to you and nature in this peaceful environment and enjoy your time here solo or with company.

IMPORTANT - this property does not have electricity or running water. There is a propane stove for cooking, a wood stove for heat, flashlights for lights and an outhouse for…well you know.
Bathroom inside - for those late night bathroom needs there is a toilet with a removable bucket that you can use so you don't need to go to the outhouse at night time.
At the cabin you can:
- relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings
- read a book on the cozy chair
- meditate or practice yoga on the enclosed porch
- hike the many trails in the area
- curl up to a glass of wine by the indoor fireplace
- roast marshmallows at the outdoor campfire
- cook your own simple meal on the propane camper stove
- stargaze without another light in the sky
- request a farm tour at our organic farm just up the road
- explore all the great adventures the area has to offer.
Amenities:
The cabin is supplied with water for cleaning (please bring your own drinking water), a propane camping stove and a cooler for your ice and items to be kept cold. There is a wood stove for heat and many candles and flashlights for light during the evenings. There is no shower but many guests enjoy cooling off in the babbling brook and an outhouse can be found not far from the property. You will be enjoying the property so much you won’t even notice that there isn’t any electricity or laptops or cellphones. Sounds lovely, eh?

Tatamagouche is a great little spot for adults and kids alike. Sugarmoon the maple syrup hut is a wonderful experience, and the Tatamagouche Brewery or Jost Winery is a recommended stop. The local falls is worth a visit as well and there are beautiful beaches towards River John. There is also a small golf course and be sure to stop into Balmoral Falls on the same road as the cabin. The Farmers Market in town and the Train Station Café bring in travelers from all over. Please ask about all the fun things to do.
