The Oceana apartment is situated a short bike ride from the picturesque Fremantle port city in Western Australia that's part of the Perth metropolitan area. It's known for its maritime history, Victorian architecture and remnants from Australia's days as a British penal colony. Fremantle Prison, which housed convicts from the 1850s to 1991, now features re-created cellblocks. The 12-sided Round House, a landmark 1831 building, also briefly functioned as a jail.
Against a backdrop of the best preserved 19th century port streetscape in the world, a day out in Fremantle is an eclectic and eccentric blend of fabulous artisanal food, handcrafted beers, great coffee, quirky boutiques and a lively music, arts and festival scene.
Adjacent to the apartment is one of the best kite surfing beaches in Perth area, and it borders South Beach Fremantle, a very popular beach with the locals. The South Beach Sunset Market is a popular food market that runs every Saturday from December 1st through until March from 6-9pm.
To our south is the Coogee Maritime Trail and it features both underwater and land-based activities. The trail is centred around the Omeo, Perth’s premier shore-based shipwreck. The dive and snorkel trail features an underwater reef and artworks, which are the first of their kind in WA.
