Watch the harbour activities and ever changing vista from the deck of our clean and comfortable home. We are situated just above the car ferry on the Russell side of the Opua harbour. The ferry cost is $13.50 per car & runs a continual service. Or you can walk on for just $1 per person. Please note that although you have sole occupancy of the house, the property has another cottage & resident in it. The driveway is also shared.

There is a 4th bedroom that I keep for myself when I use my home. I will not be here when I have guests in but the room is blocked from use by guests so I have somewhere to keep my clutter. :-)

I opened my home to travelers 18 years ago. I have loved meeting the people from all around the world. In the past I have mostly shared my house with guests as homestay. Now with the arrival of Covid19, I have had to rethink the situation. Since my family have now all grown up & left home, also I did lockdown with at my partners home (we have been dating for 17 year now), I have decided to open up as a holiday house to attract the kiwi market. I figured if Bob managed to put up with me for the first 5 weeks of lockdown, he can cope with a week or two here & there. Besides, as I get older I am getting less tolerant of living with other people, so probably good timing before I start getting really old & grumpy. :-) My home is by no means flash. However I do clean & comfortable really well, as I like my comfort & hate living in a messy house. The view from my home is amazing. I still love sitting & watching the boats come & go. Bob has bought us a sail boat recently, so hopefully I will be out sailing while you enjoy my home.
