Get away from it all in this beautiful three-bedroom cottage. At its heart is the original 1820s Shepherd's Hut. Added to over the years Dovedale is perfect for a city escape, writers retreat, baby-moon, girls weekender, or family farm stay. The cottage is cosy enough for a romantic get away and big enough for a family. Overlooking Ravensdale Rivulet and located halfway between Hobart and Coles Bay on the Great Eastern Drive, Dovedale is a perfect base to explore the magic Tasmanian East Coast.

Dovedale has three generous bedrooms, large lounge / dining area with open fireplace, desk / office area, fully-equipped country kitchen with wood heater and outdoor dining/picnic area with fire pit for clear starry evenings.
Wake up to uninterrupted views across 2,500 acres of Tasmanian farm land and rolling hills stretching as far as the eye can see.
Dovedale offers fresh local bread, farm eggs, Bream Creek dairy milk, and all of the condiments required to cook breakfast or dinner. You can relax by the open fire with a glass of excellent East Coast Pinot Noir or go for a walk up into the hills where you might spot a wombat or echidna or watch a Sea Eagle soar.

We are in an ideal location, far enough away to leave city lights behind but only a 100km drive out of Hobart. Dovedale is the ideal base to explore Maria Island. Catch the ferry, spend the day exploring the magic of Maria and then return to Dovedale to curl up in front of the fire. We are 5 minutes drive to the white sands and pristine waters of Great Oyster Bay. Situated right on the Great Eastern Drive Dovedale is the perfect base to explore the pristine East Coast.
