Be part of the vibrant Maderas Valley community when you stay at Casa Paraíso. Our 2 bedroom unit is walking distance to epic waves, soul inspiring yoga, relaxing massage, great restaurants and some of the best sunsets in Nicaragua. Or you can stay at home and enjoy the sunsets from our private pool or patio with ocean and valley views.
Our guests can sleep soundly (we have lots of hammocks) knowing we've invested in solar panels & solar hot water to offset our power needs.

This 2 bedroom apartment is located on the second floor of Casa Paraíso and comes with access to the shared pool and rooftop deck. Casa Paraíso is also available as a "whole house" for larger groups or as any combination of the three floors.

The last part of the dirt road up to the house is steep so we highly recommend that all guests plan to arrive in a 4x4 vehicle. We can help you arrange suitable transportation if you don't plan on renting a vehicle during your stay.

The Maderas Valley is truly a unique place. We're only 15 minutes north of San Juan del Sur but you'll notice the difference right away. People in the Maderas Valley are more likely to start their day with a sun salutation or morning surf and end it with a sunset view from one of the amazing restaurants nearby. Speaking of restaurants, some of our favourites are less than 10 minutes from our front door and we'll be happy to tell you all about them during you in-person check in.
We can also help you arrange for massages (Thai or Swedish), surf lessons or in house yoga instruction from some of the best practitioners in the valley.
Here's a list of just some of the things that are within walking distance of Casa Paraíso:
1. Playa Maderas (Maderas Beach), 9 minute walk: The best and most consistent waves in San Juan del Sur. If it's breaking anywhere in southern Nicaragua, it's breaking at Playa Maderas.
2. Hush Maderas Hotel, 8 minute walk: Great ocean views from their pool and deck. Margarita Monday's are always a hit. They also have specials on Tropical Thursdays.
3. Cafe Arte Sano, 8 minute walk: Amazing views and great food. We love the squash bruschetta and charcuterie plate. (18 years+ only)
4. Machete Market, 15 minute walk: The market offers lots of options so you don't have to go all the way to town for supplies. They also open for wood fired pizza every Friday night. "Pizza in the Jungle" is not to be missed. They also do brunch on the weekends and the food is amazing.
5. Bar y Restaurante Chilos, 12 minutes: This small Nicaraguan restaurant serves up the best seafood in San Juan del Sur. The sopa de mariscos (seafood soup) and pescado entero in salsa ajo (whole fried fish in garlic sauce) are local legends.
6. Mango Rosa: You'd probably want to drive to this one but it's the best spot in the valley to watch sports. Along with a killer michelada (beer, lime, spices) they have a the full digital channel package with english broadcasts of all the important games.

Anne and I (Paul) are most recently from Vancouver, Canada and have been avid travellers for the past 25 years. It was during a trip to Honduras in 2005 that we first started thinking about owning vacation property ourselves and our home in San Juan del Sur is the happy culmination of those plans. We have since expanded our rental business to include several other properties in the San Juan del Sur area. We approach all our properties with the same goal: to pair adventurous people with amazing places to stay.
