Curbside parking is available right in front of the house. The room has nice pillows & bedding, and a TV for streaming Hulu, Netflix, etc. – so you’re guaranteed a good night’s sleep!
We do not allow smoking inside the house, but there is an ashtray on the porch and in the backyard, where you are more than welcome to hang and chill!
We're in a very walkable location!

Your room is yours; there is a bathroom in the hallway that is shared with one other person.
Kitchen is shared with host; microwave, coffee machine, toaster, fridge, etc. are all available. We do ask that if guests would like to use the oven/stove, they inquire with us first (just in case we're planning on cooking during that time).
You're welcome to eat in your room, at our dining table or outside on our porch or backyard.

We welcome all races, religions, countries of origin, sexual orientations and genders. The bedroom is located on the second floor and is unfortunately not handicap accessible.
Keep in mind the house is over a century old and the stairs leading to the second floor do creak. Also, sometimes squirrels have parties on our rooftop. If you are a light sleeper, please be aware of this.
We have two dogs and two cats! While we keep the animals out of the guest room, if you have dog/cat allergies or just don't like animals, our place probably isn't for you. We sweep and vaccuum pet hair DAILY, but like any house with pets, we will never get it all. If you think you will be bothered by this, please do not book with us.
We have keyless entry via a keypad on the door. We also have a lockbox with a spare set of keys in the event of a malfunction. Additionally, we have a Ring doorbell/security camera installed, so you can simply press the button and reach us at any time in case of an emergency.
We expect the number of people who booked to stay with us – not more than that. Please do not bring additional guests into the house or have overnight visitors.

The house is in a friendly residential neighborhood, but there is nearby traffic – we’re definitely not suburb-quiet, so you might hear the odd siren at night.

Natalie and Elliot love hosting! Elliot works at a creative design firm in downtown Kansas City and Natalie works in health care technology and does freelance food and drink writing for some local publications. We love our animals and we've got this big house with extra space -- and we love Kansas City, so we figured we'd help other people love it, too. We’re basically the best people you could ask about where to go for coffee, tacos, beer, wine, cocktails, pizza, dim sum, brunch, barbecue, speakeasies, seafood (that’s right), happy hours, late-night eats, live music, shopping, yoga studios, fine dining and more. Elliot's bedroom is on the third floor; Natalie's bedroom is on the second.

Details to keyless door lock will be provided once room is booked. Two owners: Elliot lives on the top third floor and uses the shared bathroom; Natalie lives on the second floor in the master bedroom.
We have FOUR animals in the house (it's a big house, we're not weird). Pearl is a 9-year-old lab who just wants to love you. Meryl is a 2-year-old chihuahua-Frenchie mix who will bark when you enter the house, but he wants to play! Frida Katlo is a tabby kitten and she is very friendly! And Lil Mama is a shy black cat who refuses to come out of Natalie's room, so you'll never see her.
We do not allow animals in the guest bedrooms and encourage you to keep your door closed so they don't bother you. However, the animals freely roam the rest of the house, and despite our very best efforts and constant sweeping/vacuuming, you WILL find evidence of DOG HAIR in corners. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK WITH US IF YOU ARE NOT COOL WITH PETS AND PET HAIR.
Elliot & I are in our early 30s. We both have flexible jobs and may be in and out of the house throughout the day. When we're home, we're usually hanging out in the living room and loving on our pets.
Natalie is a freelance food & drink writer for KC area publications, so we can provide solid recommendations on restaurants and more.
